This is another Levinson and Link ... mystery, for lack of a better term. It's a murder from the murderer's point of view. And it shouldn't be a shock -- after all, they did it dozens of times with every episode of Columbo.
This is, in essence, a 5-man play. Hal Holbrook stars as a mentalist with a bad heart. His younger wife has taken on a younger lover, played by Barry Bostwick. And they have a cunning plan to make certain that she doesn't need a divorce: a murder with no fingerprints.
But anyone who has ever seen The Mentalist tv show knows that playing games with a mentalist is never as simple and as straightforward as anyone thinks it is.
