The Legend of Zelda - Tina Guo

Remember when I said that I wasn't going to call Tina Guo Lindsey Stirling of the cello?

It would be easier if she wasn't shooting for the job.

She did Skyrim (like Stirling), Zelda (like Stirling) and as I looked down her playlist, one of her videos is a Lindsey Stirling original piece -- complete with dancers.

But does anyone care? Her music if god, her sound and arrangements are just different enough that makes it listenable.  And wow, I can just watch her play for a while. She has a great smile. Also, she's one of the few young people these days who doesn't look 12 to my eyes.

Damn, I'm getting old.

April is the busiest month [in review]: killer puppies, Daredevil, and more.

Yikes, a lot happened this month.

The Political Cliche's in writing, in which I bitched about the various and sundry mistakes and forced crap shoved into the faces of your standard television watcher.  It was a follow up to the one about Christians.

This was before the attack of the puppies.

The month of Daredevil, from the trailers to the series itself.

Then, of course, we had the Puppies of April. First we let slip the Puppies of War, then we watched the backlash go insane.  Then again, the Puppies are responsible for my FANifesto. Sort of.

Then there was the week of the trailers -- Batman v. Superman, Ant-Man, Star Wars, and the post script for my Daredevil review.

Then I had my analysis of porn ... yeah, that was odd.  Then again, that came after my Rape article, as well as my sword video.

And of course, there was my update -- my book is about to be published.

Then, of course, there was the epic return of Lindsey Stirling to the blog.

8 blogs, 3 weeks, and we're not even counting the six music posts.

I seriously don't know how Larry Correia does the 1000-word articles every single day.  Yikes.

Music blog: A Stirling Return

I was going through the music playlist of the blog (just hit "music" and watch the fun start), and I noticed a few things.

One, I haven't really done a music-for-music's sake in a long, long while. The biggest blog of music I've run into was in December, over three months ago.

Also, I haven't posted any Lindsey Stirling for over a year.

Time to fix that, I think.

Also, the last few blogs were kinda heavy.  We need some light.

Update and Music blog: an Evanescence song I'll tolerate

Whew.  Yes, I know I've been gone for two weeks. And yes, I think you also deserve more than just a music blog...

Okay, I'll break it to you.  A Pius Man, book two, A Pius Legacy is coming out within the next 6 weeks (depending on the beta readers).

Yes, you heard it.  This will be my third book this year, right after A Pius Man: A Holy Thriller and Codename: Winterborn.  Yes, I am a writing machine. I am unstoppable.  I will crush you....

No, wait, that was my Arnold Schwarzenegger impression, and it doesn't work online. Nuts.

Anyway, as far as A Pius Legacy goes, there is a problem. It's very, very political .... actually, it's probably not as bad as I think it is.  I thought APM was a complete and utter trainwreck of political divisiveness, and I found that it was enjoyed as much by the right-wing Catholic Daria Anne as it was by the left-wing atheist Stuart West.

When people on both sides enjoy it, I guess I did something right.

So, update delivered.  Tell your friends.

Anyway....

Despite what the title says, I'm not exactly against Evanescence, but I don't exactly go out of my way to find them, and if you're not a fan, coming across them by accident takes some doing.  Seriously, I think their popularity peaked around the Daredevil movie .... which probably killed a lot of their popularity, depending on who you talk to (I prefer the director's cut, myself.)

Anyway, this is one of the few songs of theirs that I know offhand... and it's done by Lindsey Stirling. So, I can forgive a lot for the amount of talent put into this.

Music blogs -- the haven of the lazy blogger.  Originally, this was "music I write to."  Though there are days that it looks more like "music authors in general write to" (usually John Ringo).

Before we begin this one, however, I should note that I have a Catholic Writer's Guild acquaintance who has a new blog up. It's about classic literature. Anyone want to welcome her into the blogosphere?

Music Blog Lindsay Stirling's Moontrance

For this one, you have to listen for the music.  Otherwise, it just looks like a really strange rendition of Thriller ..... only with better music.  Also, I think the only reason this vid was done with zombies had more to do with Halloween than anything to do with the music itself.

Music blog: Game to Play the Game (of Thrones)

There have been some technical difficulties with the blog lately.  And some other odd stuff in my life.

To start with, I have a job. A real job, with office hours and everything. NYU-Polytech needs someone for their communications department, and I've been freelancing as an editor, content provider, pick a position, I've filled it once already.  I think the term is "utility player."

Oh, and I've been fired from Examiner.com.  Apparently, if you tell the truth about the company in a public space, they take offense. Who knew?  So, if you go looking for my Catholic or self defense articles, they've all been removed. They went after me with prejudice ... okay, and I mouthed off at someone leaving me a comment. Between explaining the pay scale (ie: pay peanuts, you get monkeys) and telling some whining little schlub that he should perform an anatomically impossible act, I was basically fired for "behavior unbecoming an Examiner." Which just proves that they don't pay attention to anything anyone reads unless it's complaining about the company.

Meh.  I lost a $25 a month job, and replaced it with a $25 an hour one.  I think I'll live.

Music Blog: A Stirling Phantom

I'm starting to run out of ideas for blog posts.

Actually, it's 3:48 in the morning as I write this, and I just finished sending a manuscript to Baen Books -- you know, the guys who publish John Ringo, David Weber, et al -- and I just learned I'm not going to hear back from them FOR 12-18 MONTHS!  So, ahem, shoot me now.

Either way, I'm in no condition to write.
